Syracuse Basketball Rap
Over the past two Syracuse basketball season, many “hip-hoppin” raps about the team have surfaced and become quite popular. So I decided to throw my fitted hat in the ring in homage to the 2010-2011 team…and I think I failed quite miserably. Tupac is turning over in his urn as we speak.
LYRICS
Yo Jimmy B”¦let’s win it!
Syracuse B-ball
Syracuse B-ball
Alright stop”¦let’s think back and remember
The year was ’09 and the month November
Albany Danes were Great not splendid
Jim Boeheim total wins 800
Sweet 16 bound, Coach of the Year
30 total wins, Conference Champs you must fear
This year, different cast same crew
Coaches Murph, Fine, Hopkins all know what to do
Move over Pele, Brazil’s new hero
Call him relaxed because his name is Melo
Wingspan, longer than a needle
7 foot center, more Fab than the Beatles
Sophomore homegrown Brandon Triche
Three point jumper wetter than a fish
Mookie, speaking of long range zones
No way defenders keep up with the Jones
Give him gratuity, Dion Waiters
Serving up dishes; call, he caters
Haters, saying life isn’t Fair
We got C.J. flying through the air
James claims your court in the name of Southerland
Dunks more powerful than the suit of Iron Man
I’m sorry Rick Jackson ooo I am for real
Senior presence you know the drill
Call defenders reporters cause they want the Scoop
Ah too late, Jardine to the hoop
Big Band Era swingman, first name Kris
National Championship”¦we’re gonna win thisa
