SCA’s “Outside the Box Office” film screening series is doing a sneak preview of Universal’s “Pitch Perfect” tomorrow. I have a reservation because I make a reservation for anything that I’ve actually heard of prior to looking at the website. But I cannot decide on whether I should go or not, I keep swaying back and forth between my feelings. So help a fella out here.

DON’T GO: “I don’t really want to see it.”

Every time I see a trailer or a poster or a picture from “Pitch Perfect” it does absolutely nothing to stimulate me.

Except this one.

Maybe I’m not their target audience or maybe their promotional people are doing about as good of a job with me as the ones at Disney did with trying to sell “John Carter” to everyone else in the world.

How could you not want to see this movie?

DO GO: “It’s getting really good reviews.”

I usually don’t care about reviews. Again, I saw “John Carter” and I liked it. But there are a couple of sources that I respect more than others that really have dug the movie – Buzzfeed.com and @JuddApatow. Both have turned out really solid content ever since I’ve been turned on to their respective pieces of work and so I’m curious as to why they’ve enjoyed it so.

I trust this man.

DON’T GO: “I’m scared someone will see me and I won’t have a good excuse.”

If that cute girl who sits next to me in my Russian class is there I’m just screwed.

DO GO: “I still watch ‘Glee.’”

Another thing you can ridicule me about later, but I’ve sat through every episode of “Glee” since it first aired. I don’t like the show; in fact I usually skip over the musical numbers because I can’t really stand them. So maybe this flick will take the part of “Glee” that still makes me watch (I kinda like some of the characters. Kinda.) and just put in some better music. I could be down.

DON’T GO: “I don’t watch ‘Workaholics.’”

Apparently that guy from “Workaholics” is one of the best things about the movie, especially for the male demographic. Which would be awesome, except that I don’t watch “Workaholics” so that doesn’t mean crap to me. But he’s going to be in the new season of “Arrested Development” too which does give him some cred in my book.

Nothing.

Everything.

DO GO: “Two words – Anna. Kendrick.”

I’ve had a crush on her ever since I saw this little indie feature called “Rocket Science” back in high school where she made out with a high school boy in a janitor closet and I had to hide my erection from my mom who was sitting next to me. Follow that up with “Up in the Air,” “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” and her recent cameo/role in Ben Folds Five’s “Do It Anyway” music video and you’ve got a girl who is clamoring after my own heart. So her starring role here actually is a pretty strong draw for me.

I like that whistle in your mouth, babe.

So what’s the verdict? Do you think I should go or not? Let me know!
