Hey Basement dwellers,

At this point, you’re probably wondering, “How could they possibly have made a sequel to Ghost Rider?!” You’re probably also wondering, more relevantly, “What the hell is going on with the Inaugural Campus Basement “Let’s Keep This Website Awesome Over Winter Break” Tournament? I mean, is this thing ever going to end?”
Yes, my good man (and madam). Like all of our lives this coming December, as predicted by John Cusack and the folks at Columbia Pictures, this tournament will indeed end.
The past two rounds have seen more lead changes than Spiderman on Broadway. At the end of Round Two, the score is:
1. USC – 161
2. Hofstra – 141
3. Mizzou – 122
4. Cuse – 103
5. Columbia – 57
6. Wash U – 49
7. CB Staff – 40
8. Cornell – 38
After a lot of back-and-forth and debate over terminology, we decided that we cannot, realistically, kill off all of the other staffs in order for the Campus Basement staff to take first place (yet). So, we’re going to go about it in a more “legal”manner via: AN ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT!
Just like March Madness, the high seed plays the low seed (so 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, etc.), with the winner of each matchup advancing to the following round. The elimination round will begin on January 5th, with the Championship round falling on January 11th. The first round will be as follows:
#1 USC vs. #8 Cornell (1/5)
#4 Cuse vs. #5 Columbia (1/5)
#3 Mizzou vs. #6 Wash U (1/6)
#2 Hofstra vs. #7 CB Staff (1/6)
That gives you all plenty of time to warm up those fingers so that, when your school’s team calls on you, you’re ready to click that share button. Just like in the last two rounds, the team with the most Facebook shares/tweets will advance.
That’s it. You have the next three days to recover from New Year’s Eve. And if you’re like me, you’re going to need all three days. And if you’re even more like me, you’re still wondering what you can possibly do to ensure that Nicolas Cage never, ever makes another movie. Seriously, Ghost Rider 2?!
