Syracuse, NY- University Union is proud to announce Kid Cudi as the headliner for this year’s Block Party along with performances by Nas & Damian Marley and other special guests. The annual spring concert will be held Friday, April 29th in the Carrier Dome at 7 p.m., doors at 6 p.m.

 

Presale tickets will be available for students beginning Tuesday, March 1st online at suathletics.com and are $15 for students with a valid SU/ESF ID. Tickets will open to the general public March 8th for $25 (+18).

 

After being featured on Kanye West’s album 808’s & Heartbreak, Kid Cudi was on the radar of music and media moguls. Kid Cudi’s debut album Man on the Moon brought him to the top of the charts with hit singles “Day “N’ Nite” and “Make Her Say”. Cudi’s sophomore album Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager was released by G.O.O.D. Music in November 2010 and peaked at #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap charts, featuring single “Erase Me”.

 

Hip-hop and reggae artists Nas & Damian Marley collaborated on Distant Relatives, an album that brought the artists back to their roots, reached #5 on the US Billboard 200 chart and resulted in a donation to a project in Africa. The single, “As We Enter”, peaked at #10 on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap charts while “Strong Will Continue” is featured in the 2010 FIFA World Cup video game.
